Volunteers from Habitat for Humanity put in a work day at the McFarland Ranch to help with construction, Feb 2006

 

The Habitat for Humanity volunteers see how the sawmill works at a work day at the McFarland Ranch.

1. Ron Jacobson demonstrates sawmill to volunteers Ron Dameron, Roy Sumner, Bob Fossgreen and Ernie.

In restoring the ranch house, every bit of flooring and paneling must be removed and nails pulled out by hand.  This is a time consuming job and is eagerly done by the many volunteers.

2. Volunteers Elayne Green and Betty Hugel remove nails from paneling.

Lifting a new stud wall into place in the kitchen of the McFarland Living History Ranch in Galt, CA.

3. Volunteers John Robinson, Ron Dameron, Roy Sumner maneuver new stud wall into place in kitchen area.

This shows the major changes to the remodeled house that must be put back to original.

4. Where is that toilet? Volunteers tore out plumbing and floor in upstairs bathroom to return area to original sewing room.
