This map shows the simple way to get to the McFarland Ranch kite day.

Exit at Twin Cities Road. It is about 20-25 miles from both Sacramento to the north and Stockton to the south. Reset your odometer to zero. Turn east and proceed 6.5 miles to Christensen Road. Turn south (right turn and the only choice) and drive 1.9 miles to the stop sign at Orr Road. Orr road may not be marked. Turn right and go 1.9 miles to the end which is the McFarland Living History Ranch.
Go south about 20 miles and exit at Elm St. At the stop on Lincoln, just go straight ahead 3.8 miles to the end. That is the McFarland Living History Ranch.
Go North about 25 miles and exit at Simmerhorn. This exit is a bit more complicated, but follow these directions and you won't get lost. At the first stop, turn left and go about 1/4 mile around the curve. It will take you over the freeway and come to a stop at Lincoln Way. You will be in the middle of road construction. Turn left and go a block to the stop at Elm St. Turn right and go 3.8 miles to the end. That is the McFarland Living History Ranch.
You may remember being on "C" street and going over the railroad tracks to 3rd Street. Just to the left is Harvey Park. In this case, turn right on 3rd Street and go .2 miles to the stop at "A" Street. Turn right and immediately turn left (do not cross the tracks) on McFarland Street. Go .5 miles to the next stop at Orr Road. Turn left and go about 2 miles to the end. That is the McFarland Living History Ranch.
To join the Galt Area Historical Society, here is the application.
